A deterrent for the fox on your lawn and the cat in your veg bed, with plain advice on where to put it.

  • Made for UK gardens. Aimed at the visitors British gardens actually get: foxes on the lawn and the neighbour's cat in your borders.
  • No traps or poison. It's a deterrent, so there's nothing to bait, set or clear up, and no pellets near your veg.
  • Front and back covered. The 2-pack and 4-pack let you put one unit by the bins and another by the raised beds.
  • Easy to move around. Move it to wherever the visitors are coming in, and shift it now and then so they don't get used to it.

Need more than one? Packs work out cheaper: 2-pack £22.00 each, 4-pack £16.75 each.

Where to put it

Start by working out the route. Foxes tend to come in the same way each night, through a gap under the fence, over a low wall or down the side return. Cats usually head for freshly dug soil, raised beds, gravel and sandpits.

Put the unit near that spot, low down, with open ground in front of it. Don't hide it behind pots or thick planting. Follow the positioning guidance in the instructions that come with it.

Move it every week or two. Animals get used to things that never change, so a new position helps keep it working for you.

If you have a long garden, or a front drive and a back garden, one unit won't cover everything. That's where the 2-pack makes sense. The 4-pack suits allotments and bigger plots.

It works best alongside the basics: lids on the bins, no food left out, the sandpit covered at night and gaps under fences filled in.

Good to know

No repeller can promise results. A hungry fox, or a cat that has used your border as a litter tray for months, may take a while to change its habits, and some won't change at all. Give it a couple of weeks in one area before you judge it.

It's designed to bother animals, so it may bother your own pets too. Keep it away from where your dog or cat spends time, and well away from rabbit hutches, guinea pig runs and hen houses.

Check how your unit is powered before you choose a spot. British weather and short winter days can affect any outdoor gadget, so check it's still running as the seasons change.

Questions

Will it definitely keep foxes and cats away?
We can't promise that, and we'd be wary of anyone who does. It's designed to make your garden less comfortable to visit. How well it works depends on where you put it, how determined the animal is and whether there's food or shelter drawing it in.

Will it hurt the animals?
It isn't a trap or a poison. It's a deterrent, designed to put animals off visiting rather than catch them.

I have a dog, cat or backyard hens. Can I still use it?
Yes, but it may bother them as well. Keep it pointed away from where your own animals spend time, and well away from hutches, runs and hen houses.

How many do I need?
A single unit suits one problem spot, like a veg bed or the bin store. If you want to cover the front and back, or two separate areas, go for the 2-pack. The 4-pack is for allotments and larger gardens.

Can I use it on an allotment?
Yes. Put it where the visitors come in or near the beds they're digging up, and move it every so often.

How long until I notice a difference?
Give it at least a couple of weeks in one area. Animals with long-standing habits can take a while to change their route.
